The QY-48 is a hydraulic steel wire rope cutter used to cut guy wire, stay wire and steel cable during transmission line installation and maintenance. It applies a 200KN cutting force to cut steel wire rope from 10mm to 48mm in diameter cleanly, without the rope splaying and deformation that a manual cutter leaves. The forged steel cutting head and non-conductive fiberglass handles make it a practical tool for line crews working on towers and substations.
